August 4 - Yes the political conventions are a series of speeches and party building leading up to the coronation of each party's presidential nominee. But a lot more goes on outside of the broadcast coverage at the conventions – a whole lot of partying. Picture extravagant parties with fountains of free flowing cocktails and an infinite amount of food. Parties held by lobbyists and special interest groups.

July 7 - The passage of campaign finance reform legislation led to an explosion in the number of political groups outside the traditional campaign and party structures. The most famous are 527 groups, such as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. However, this year, both major party Presidential candidates have taken stances against 527's. dollars in the past 7 years. Questions have been raised about 15 million
dollars paid to Bill Clinton that came from a partnership with Ronald Burkle
of Yucaipa Companies, whose investors include the leader of Dubai.

Obama raised in March. That's twice the amount raised by Senator Hillary
