Apr. 16, Feature - Strong animosity is forming over the up coming November election in Colorado, because of a controversial anti-affirmative action initiative making its way on the ballot. If passed, the so-called Colorado Civil Rights Initiative would end all affirmative action programs, including equal opportunity measures in higher education and public employment.

Mar. 5, Feature - Reporter Katie Heim reports on the Texas' chaotic day of chaotic democracy.

Texas is the only state in the country to hold both a primary and a caucus for its democratic electoral process…voters come out to the polls not once on election day, but twice to voice their choice for the democratic nominee and make changes to the Democratic party platform. Caucus results were slow in coming, but favored the Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, while primary results favored Senator Clinton. Strong grassroots efforts by the Obama campaign may have brought voters back out to caucus for the Senator, who lost to the former first lady in Ohio earlier in the evening.

Possible Expansion of Voting Options in New Mexico

Mar. 4, Interview - Residents in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont are not the only ones voting today. Voters in Santa Fe, New Mexico will be voting on what's called ranked choice or instant runoff voting.

Election Unspun's producer Karen Miller talked to Rick Lass director of Voting Matters in Santa Fe, New Mexico, about this growing trend that may change how elections are run in the future.

It's not only the Presidential candidates that will be on the ballot in Maryland tomorrow. Local political primaries will as well. One race is receiving national attention – that of eight term Democratic US Representative Al Wynn. He usually wins the general election with over 80 percent of the vote, but this year, he is facing a tough primary challenger, who is campaigning on the platform that Democrats are not listening to the demands of the people.
