July 25 - According to a Pew Research Poll, Barack Obama has is doing well among Latino voters. Despite displeasure of Obama during the primary, 2/3's of Latinos support Obama over John McCain over Latinos. But both candidates continue to court the Latino community with vigor. California is the biggest prize on Super-Tuesday; and Latinos make up a
huge percentage of the Democratic Party in California. Both Hillary
Clinton and Barack Obama are doing everything they can to woo the Latino vote. In
the Nevada Caucuses last month Clinton was propelled to victory by winning
the sizable Latino vote by a 62 to 26 margin. Following Nevada, political
pundits began referring to the Latino vote as Hillary Clinton's "firewall;" something
that Obama's surging candidacy could not overcome.
At the GOP Debate in Simi Valley, California, Republican candidates all move
their stances on immigration further right.
After a big win in Florida on Tuesday, John McCain seemed on top of his throne
at the CNN/Politico debate. He and Mitt Romney dominated most of the discussion
where Romney was forced to explain his government mandated universal health
care plan he implemented as Governor of Massachusetts while McCain tried to
convince he was strong on the economy.
