The Republican party calls the lawsuit 'frivolous.' The Federal Election Commission has been unable to intervene because only 2 of the 6 member commission are seated.

Senator John McCain prioritizes the war in Iraq over toppling Osama Bin Laden. John McCain Speaking at the Associated Press' annual convention, Senator John McCain said he would not focus on Osama bin Laden if it meant moving resources from Iraq.

"I would not do that unless General Petraeus said that he felt the situation called for that. I understand how tough things are, I understand the stress on the military. I hear from people all the time.

General Petraeus would likely never recommend shifting attention to the Al Qaeda leader as long as he maintains in the Afghanistan/ Pakistan region. Petreaus is the commander in Iraq and is supposed to have little say on military operations outside of Iraq.
