Feb. 29, Headlines - Bush has entered the political debate. He seemed disoriented
when slurring through a response to a question about Democratic Presidential
candidate Barack Obama's position on meeting with the new Cuban leader
"Sitting down at the table, having your picture taken with a tyrant
such as Raul Castro lends the status of our office, and the status of our
country to him. He gets to say 'Look at me, I'm sitting down with the President
of the United States."
Obama responded by saying as President he would 'draw
the clearest contrast to Bush's foreign policies.'
Ralph Nader chose his running
mate - Matt
Gonzales, former head of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
At a news conference in Washington DC, Nader said he "wanted someone who…
has a record of accomplishment in areas such as election reform, criminal justice,
and the creation of the highest minimum wage in the country."
Nader announced
his bid for President Sunday. He has not yet announced if he would run as
an Independent or as a Green Party candidate.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg
announced he will not enter the Presidential race, after months of speculation,
the Mayor announced his decision in an Op-Ed in the New York Times. He did
say he's support a candidate that takes "an
independent, nonpartisan approach."
