Feb. 26, Headlines - Some media outlets are reporting
that Barack Obama is trying to persuade Jewish voters that he's pro-Israel.
With significant Jewish populations in Texas and Ohio, Obama met with Jewish
leaders in Ohio Sunday. Ralph Nader said Obama used to be Pro-Palestinian
but has since switched his stance.
Obama adviser Dr. Susan Rice responded to
an Election Unspun question about the issue:
"Senator Obama has a consistent
strong and long record of support for Israel, he understands the crucial
nature of that alliance."
Her campaign is denying claims that it put out a picture
dressed in traditional Kenyan attire while on a trip there. Critics say the
picture was meant to invoke stereotypes and rehash rumors that Obama is a Muslim.
Obama, a Christian, called the picture a smear. The Clinton campaign denied
responsibility but did not defend the picture.
Clinton is responding to Obama's
criticism of her NAFTA policy. She says NAFTA was "negotiated" by the first
President Bush, not by her husband.
President Clinton did sign NAFTA into law
in 1993.
